They day everyone has been waiting for has finally arrived.  It’s Friday, September 5th and that means that tonight, Those in the know will be at PANTHERFEST enjoying all of the fun, FREE activities.  Check back soon because the bloggers will be down at the Summerfest grounds giving you an exclusive look at what has to happen before the big show.

RAIN or shine

Given the lovely weather that Milwaukee has experienced over the past few days, I’d like to remind everyone that PANTHERFEST will be happening, rain or shine. Make sure to get there early to experience all the perks offered. And don’t forget…the Marcus Amphitheater is covered, so even if the rain decides to stay, you won’t get wet for too long!

Weather.com is only predicting a 20% chance of rain, so let’s all cross our fingers! T-1 day baby!

Pat “Really, you don’t know who this guy is?” McCurdy

Be sure to check out the perennial hit man (like in a good way) of comedic singing Pat McCurdy TONIGHT in the Gasthaus. In fact Mr. McCurdy is the opening act in the semester long Gasthaus Entertainment Series which features local and national acts ranging from salsa music to alternative with acts like Bossa Tres, Maritime, and Fever Marlene. This semester, there should be music for all fans!!!

Pat McCurdy, 9pm, Gasthaus (lowest-level of the UNION). Make sure to arrive early-seating will fill up fast!

In case you haven’t been checking your Campus KickOff calendar, I wanted to remind you that the Union House Party is tomorrow, and guess what … we’re liveblogging it!!  The party starts at 2pm and goes till 5.  Everyone that comes will get some free ice cream and access to other free activities and prizes from centers all around the building.  Just because school has started doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun.  Come grab some food and chill in the Union tomorrow.  See you there!

What you may have missed…

Hey everyone!! So if you didn’t stop over to campus for the for the first week of events, you really missed out on some great events.  On Thursday, Comedy Sportz attracted over 200 people to their show in the Gasthaus.  On Friday, hundreds of students bowled and played pool and table tennis for free while watching the Big Lebowski and winning great prizes.  On Sunday, Lee and I joined the Adventure Center for their bike tour of Milwaukee.  It was fantabulous.  Make sure you check the calendar for more events this week!  Tomorrow is there is the Alternative Energy Fair, the Union House Party, The Rec Center Grand Re-Opening and more.  See you around!

Union House Partay!!!

Hopefully you’ve all by now checked out the Campus KickOff mini schedule. What? You haven’t? Don’t worry you download a PDF of it here or you can pick it up around the campus from any number of locations.

Once you get your schedule make sure to check out the Union House Party on September 3rd in the big ‘ol concourse of the UWM Union. The party then spreads to the rest of the UNION with each activity focusing on different area of the builing such as the theatre, art gallery and craft centre. There’ll be a plethora of activities going on like a Gladiator Joust, caricature drawing and free ICE CREAM. Yeah it’s free, but it’ll go fast so make sure to get there right away! The party starts at 2pm and goes till 5pm.
